Essential Oils for the Skin

A great built-in benefit of essential oils is that they are skin boosters. Given that they’re derived from the  plants, seeds, and/or leaves of plants, they provide a natural way to treat skin conditions.

While Lavender is most commonly known for sleep and calming properties, Lavender also provides a great balance for your skin! Packed with natural anti-inflammatory and natural hydrators, Lavender is a great for battling puffy, dry skin!

Blue Tansy

Known as the holy grail of essential oils – Blue Tansy is a rare plant from the Chamomile family! It is great for combating acne, skin aging, and blemishes.

I use frankincense DAILY! Straight from the bottle with a roller fitment or dilute with fractionated coconut oil  – Frankincense has been a game changer in my skincare routine.

Like Lavender, Rosemary is also a great anti-inflammatory essential oil. Can also help with greasy hair or dandruff!

Tea Tree

Harvested from the Maleluca tree, Tea Tree is of the most common and most used antiseptics in alternative medicine. Not only does it help inflammation, more importantly it helps with fighting bacteria (cue the acne breakouts).

You hear me talking about Lemon for everything – and yet here it is again on the skincare list! Lemon is awesome for anti-aging and battling inflammation.

***DISCLAIMER: Beware – pure lemon can damage the skin when exposed to sunlight, when using in your skincare routine it’s best to apply at night or on days the UV index is low!

Finally, a skincare essential oil that combats pain relief! Great for eczema rashes and inflammation – Patchouli’s got you covered!

Like Patchouli, Eucalyptus is a great essential oil for rashes/inflammation.

Loaded with anti-fungal and anti-bacterial properties, Rose is one of my favorite skincare essential oils.

Helps with the appearance of the skin. Reduces dark spots.

Great for acne breakouts, skin infections, and irritations as it contains anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties.
